bright new things #3 Golden Filter

What I know about Golden Filter.
1) Golden Filter hail from New York
2) They have really good promo pictures, not to be under estimated in the 'falling in love with a band' process
3) Their debut single, Solid Gold, is being released on limited 7" through Dummy Records. This will be the first release for Dummy Records also, who you might recognise as the AMAZING free music glossy around in 2006. (In a double good news bulletin, Dummy is making a comeback too next month).
4) They've just completed a devastatingly glorious remix for Little Boots which we're sure will hit blogosphere (I'm slapping my self for using that word) ever so soon.
5) As well as Boots, Golden Filter have remixed Empire of The Sun, Cut Copy and reworked Peter, Bjorn and John, which sounds like THIS (DOWNLOAD ME!)
6) Gold jewelery is making a comeback over silver. I read it in the London Paper.

Your school trips included what?!?!

Our very own Marina is the shining star of this week's NME Radar section, and what'd you know, here it is

I'll let you in to a secret. it took many goes at chucking those diamonds in the air to get that backdrop, health and safety be damned.
But let's never ask Marina about her outings as a child again. Deal?

bright new things #2 Tin Can Telephone

It may be utterly freezing outside but a quick blast of the delicate tones of Tin Can Telephone is enough to thaw the chilliest of mittens.
Incidentally, Tin Can Telephone are all about mittens, as they are maracas, Dictaphones and Bogglins, just check out their myspace pictures.
The band were created by Andy Duckett, one half of cult noise makers Tiger Force, and he was soon joined by an army of instrumentalists (6? 7?) who begin their live shows by processioning through the audience, synchronised hand claps n everything.
Musically, think Clap Your Hands Say Yeah sat round a fire with Weezer whilst The Shins toast marshmallows and crack inappropriate jokes.

Happy Boots Year

We're off to a flying start at 679 towers. Namely with 3 Little Boots front covers in one week. Here's my favourites:

Guardian Weekend Magazine

("Cover of the Fader, now I'm on my way up..." Sir Kayne)

Plus winning BBC Sounds poll and popping up literally everywhere leaves us wondering; where next for Boots??
